Each Year, Lord Stirling School holds the LSS Swamp Devil Run, endorsed by the Bernards Township Chamber of Commerce. Major supporters include the Bernardsville news organization, TGI Friday's, Millington Savings Bank, Fleet Insurance and the Total Wellness Center.

Over the past 13 years the Lord Stirling School Swamp Devil Run has developed into one of the Premier Road races in the State of New Jersey. The sunday New Jersey Section of the New York Times (Nov. 19, 1999) listed this race as one of the 10 best in the state (Best Course for a Fast Time). The races, a 5K and a 15K average over 700 runners per year, along with hundreds of friends and relatives who come to enjoy the day and cheer on the runner. A race booklet listing all race sponsors is available for runners and spectators. A highly coveted long sleeve Race Shirt (now in four color print) listing all major sponsors is give to each racer entrant, as well as being available for sale to spectators. These shirts are very visible throughout the north and central New Jersey areas.

Proceeds from this race go to the Lord Stirling School which is devoted to the education and rehabilitation of behaviorally disordered, emotionally disturbed and learning disabled young people. Through the efforts of the school, many youngsters who would otherwise have become a lifetime drain on community resources have been successfully returned to the community as self-sufficient, productive members of society.

The cost of helping these students is expensive. The school depends on the generosity of members of the community like yourself to provide the extra funds necessary to offer the assistance these special students need.

We hope you will consider the Lord Stirling School as worthy of your generosity. The School is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, therefore, all donations are tax deductible. This year's race is scheduled for November 18, 2007. In order to have your information listed on our shirt and in our program, donations must be received by November 14, 2007.
